Node Operators

What are Node Operators on Eigenlayer? How do we select them?

Node Operators

Operator refers to any entity that operates a network validator. BPM Finance will partner with a set of industry leading professional operators to run both ETH validators, and the validation services required by the set of AVS's that BPM Finance secures.

  • New operators can be added to the network by BPM Finance

  • The protocol routinely routes delegations to Operators

For more information, see the EigenLayer documentation around Node Operators.

Node Operators selected by BPM Finance

BPM Finance's current operator partners have not yet been defined, however we are considering the following operators: Chorus One, Figment, HashKey Cloud, Kiln, Unit 410.

Both restaking and AVS management bring significant risks like slashing, and requires operators experienced with deploying, securing, and maintaining highly available distributed systems in adversarial environments.

Selection Criteria

Operator selection is based on multiple criteria including:

  • Slashing history

  • Operating track record

  • Assets under management (AUM)

  • Best practices in anti-slashing, infrastructure and management

On the long-run, we plan to establish a DAO to make the selection process decentralised.
